Do I need to sign for my
Fed Ex Home or Office delivery? All orders are shipped "NO Signature Required". This means that Fed Ex will leave your order at your doorstep if you are not home. Every order includes Fed Ex Priority Delivery. In most instances your door before 10:30 am. We'll carefully pack your order in an insulated box with adequate gel ice for transit. However we are not responsible for loss of quality, spoilage or theft due to the shipment being delivered and left unattended in unfavorable conditions. We'll notify you of your tracking number after shipment and provide you with information on Fed Ex tracking alert options. We strongly recommend making use of these options. In most instances you can select a specific delivery time frame or choose to have your package held at the nearest Fed Ex facility to be picked up at your convenience if you will not be home to receive it. If Fed Ex fails to deliver on schedule and there is a loss in quality we would be able to submit a claim on your behalf but not in other instances. Due to the perishable nature of seafood its very important you provide an often checked email address and a phone number you can easily be reached at. How much does shipping cost? To make your check out experience as simple as possible we have incorporated Fed Ex ship rates into our product cost. There will be no additional expense added at check out. Will I have enough room in my freezer? In a traditional household refrigerator with the freezer section located at the top 14 lb would fit nicely under the middle -shelf. Easily allowing room for other items above. How many servings per lb? This varies by household and appetites. Rick and Sarah easily share 1.25 lb of CR King Fillet and at times 1.5 lb Sockeye Salmon Fillet for dinner. That being said we are both hearty eaters with AK sized appetites. Smaller appetites would do well with .50 lb or less serving size. Fine Dining Restaurants often serve .25-.40 lb per plate. How long can I store it?
We produce multiple small batches during our fishing season, providing you with some of the freshest just caught -just frozen CR Salmon and other seafood available! FROZEN: This depends on the quality of your freezer, your settings, how often you open it, or fail to close it. Easily you have 6 months. With lower temp settings and infrequent auto defrosts you could still have a very nice piece of fish some 8 months later. We have even had feed back from people that have come across a misplaced package of our fish over a year later in the back of their freezer with very pleasant results after cooking. But the sooner you eat it, all the better in our opinion. FRESH: Most home refrigerators are not kept cold enough to store fresh fish for an extended length of time. Upon receipt we recommend placing a container or bag filled with ice under your fresh fish while storing in the coolest section of your refrigerator, most often this is the bottom shelf. What are my shipping options? FED EX OVERNIGHT: The majority of our Home or Office shipments are delivered via Fed Ex Priority Overnight to your doorstep. In some instances small restaurants or wholesale markets also prefer this option. ALASKA AIRLINES CARGO: We regularly ship via AK Airlines for pick up at your city's local cargo facility. In most instances restaurants and wholesale markets choose this method. Retail customers that are not inconvenienced by picking up the shipment from their local airport cargo facility generally benefit from a reduced ship cost on orders over 40+ lb compared to Fed Ex Overnight delivery pricing. Please contact us before placing an order if AK Air Cargo is your preferred ship method. *HAWAII SHIPPING* We can ship to HNL -Honolulu using Alaska Airlines Cargo. Fed Ex Overnight to Hawaii is not an option we offer at this time. Contact us for details. On which day does Copper River Salmon become available each year? Our official start date varies each year. But always fall near to the 15th of May. Due to the weekend and resulting shipping schedule restraints our "First Fish" Fed Ex Overnight - Front Door delivery date will vary as well. Alaska Airlines Cargo - Airport Pickups would be available over the weekend. Depending on the day our first fishing opportunity its possible that AK Air Cargo pick up would be the fastest availability option. Do you sell to restaurants or wholesale? We sure do! We love working with discerning wholesale and restaurant clients. We produce traceable, high quality Copper River Salmon products specific to your needs. Both fresh and frozen. We're happy to work with food buying clubs and can pack large boxes with multiple smaller orders to allow a significant savings on shipping costs. |
What is a "Catch Share" and when will it be delivered? A "Catch Share" is a pre-order of fish not yet available. We have yet to catch it. We want to clearly make the distinction on our website. In the item description there will be an estimation of the delivery date or you can always check our fishing/shipping schedule page for the most up to date info. Why list items on your website if they are not yet available? We are not a huge holding warehouse with vast amounts of previously caught, packaged, and traded seafoods from all over setting around waiting for orders to come in. Rather we produce small artisan batches as orders are received and we try to carefully manage availability to always offer an extremely fresh product. At times we run out and must produce another batch off of an upcoming harvest. Some frozen seafood may have been harvest over a year ago! Thats not us. You will most always receive frozen fish thats a few short weeks or less out of the ocean! What's the difference? First Fish, Early Season, Mid Season Fish, Late Summer Harvest. "First Fish" will be harvested at our very first fishing opportunity. "Early Season" shipments are completely dependent on the season's fishing schedule. As soon as we possibly can we will begin harvesting and fulfillment of "Early Season" orders after all "First Fish" orders are fulfilled. "Mid Season" Salmon refers to fish harvested only after the fulfillment of our "First Fish" and "Early Season" orders. 1) First Fish- King and Sockeye 2) Early Season- King and Sockeye 3) Mid Season- Sockeye Only 4) Late Season- Coho Only Halibut and Black Cod (Sablefish), are harvested in the Spring and mid summer months as our CR Salmon harvest allows. Spot Prawn harvest occurs in the Spring prior to CR Salmon season. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ FIRST FISH SALMON HARVEST Copper River King and Sockeye. Our "First Fish" offerings are just that. The first fish we catch. Shipped immediately; just as our spring harvest season begins. As soon as we catch these fish orders are filled and shipped in the order they were received. Like many first of the season limited availability food items our first fish prices are higher than our early harvest and mid season prices. Quality is exceptional in all instances. Anticipated First Fish Delivery is 21 May 2019. EARLY SEASON SALMON Copper River King and Sockeye. After regular fishing hours are established by the State of Alaska biologists we will begin fulfilling these orders. Catches can still be sporadic during the early season. We will fill orders in the order they were received. Anticipated ship date of early June. MID SEASON SALMON Copper River Sockeye only. Our "Mid Season" fish are handled with the same care and consideration as our "First Fish" during a time when our fishery typically has a more consistent catch volume. By consolidating the majority of our shipments into midseason ship dates we are able to reduce our time and overhead on each shipment. We pass this savings on to you. If you don't mind the wait selecting product from our "Mid Season" fish is the frugal choice. We do not have a guaranteed ship date but will contact you prior to shipment when the time gets nearer. Anticipated "Mid Season" Fish Delivery is Late June or Early July. LATE SUMMER SALMON HARVEST Copper River Coho only. Our final Salmon harvest of the year occurs late August and into September. We'll determine our delivery schedule as the fishing season progresses. Anticipated Mid to Late August. Why are different products available at different times of the year ? See "What's the difference" answer above. When will my order ship? See "What's the difference" answer above. What if I want my Copper River Salmon now; as in right now, immediately ? Please contact us via Email or Phone and we'll see if we can accommodate your needs. Additional costs are likely with single order shipments. As we group bundle our shipments out of our rural Alaska location. Can you produce a special order just for me? In fact we do just that. As orders are received we produce small frozen batches. So that you always receive the freshest caught or just frozen fish. If you have specific requests or concerns please contact us and we will do our best to meet or exceed your expectations. Can I place an order over the winter holidays? Sorry, no. We only harvest Copper River Salmon during the summer months. We produce our frozen product in small batches during the harvest season. After we sell out of our last batch in late summer we are sold out until the following spring when the fishing season begins again. If you would like to enjoy our CR Salmon this winter please plan ahead and stock up during our summer harvest season. |
